Welcome to a glimpse of the work that happens in my studio. I paint, draw, work with mixed media, sculpt, make masks and occasionally wearable art.
My themes are Land, Sea, Sky and its Inhabitants and that encompasses a wide range of topics. I enjoy watching birds, particularly Ravens, and they have become iconic for me. I paint them often.

An image of a raven on a black background. #2 in a series.

Black Raven Series #2

Much of my imagery is abstract. I paint what I see outside my door and in my minds eye.

An abstract landscape painting, highly textured.

Mixed media is another avenue of expression.

Mixed media that speaks of memory. A distressed canvas and frame. Made up of elements created and handled by people through many years

Memory Board

Sculpture too.

When you exit the ferry, a brochure that includes both the locations of Malcolm Island business ventures and artist studios can be found at the Sointula Resource Center. The map will direct you to 765 Second Street. It is approximately 1 mile from “downtown” and is one block up from First Street. If you are visiting by boat and docked at the MI Lions Harbour dock it is a short walk up to Second Street. The studio is located in the basement and there will a sandwich board visible on the road.

Summer Studio Hours are 11-3 daily or phone 250-973-6301 for an appointment. Hours are subject to change.

Please note that this is a working studio and you may find me at work (translation: it might be messy). Please don’t hesitate to come on in and check out what I am up to.
